Formula & How It's Calculated
The age calculation algorithm:
Leap years and varying month lengths are accounted for exactly. Total days = (Reference Date − Birth Date) in milliseconds ÷ 86,400,000.
Example Calculations
Example: Born June 15, 1990 → Age on June 11, 2026
- Years completed: 35 (birthday not yet passed this year)
- Remaining months: 11 | Remaining days: 27
- Total days alive: 13,144
- Total hours: 315,456
How It Works
- Enter your date of birth using the date picker.
- The "Calculate Age On" field defaults to today — change it to any past or future date.
- Calculator finds the exact difference in years, months, and days.
- Total days, hours, weeks, and minutes are computed from the exact millisecond difference.
- Your day of birth (weekday) is determined from the calendar.

Age Calculator – Calculate Your Exact Age Instantly
Our free age calculator computes your exact age from your date of birth — not just years, but years, months, days, hours, and even minutes. Whether you need your precise age for a legal document, medical form, or simply want to know how many days old you are, this calculator delivers instant, accurate results.
How to Calculate Age From Date of Birth
The algorithm starts by finding the complete years between your birth date and today. It then calculates remaining months, accounting for varying month lengths (28–31 days) and leap years. Finally, it calculates remaining days. This three-step process ensures exact accuracy regardless of the dates involved.
Calculate Age on Any Date
The "Calculate Age On" field lets you find your age on any date — past or future. This is useful for retroactive calculations (how old was I on my wedding day?), future planning (how old will I be in 2030?), or checking age eligibility for programs with specific date cutoffs.
Age Calculator for Legal & Medical Purposes
Age calculations matter for many official purposes: retirement eligibility (US full Social Security retirement age is 66–67 depending on birth year), Medicare enrollment at 65, pediatric medical care thresholds, driving license minimum ages, and school enrollment cutoffs. Always verify the exact date rules with the relevant authority, as some use "birthday" and others use "day after birthday" as the qualifying date.
Chronological vs Biological Age
Chronological age is simply the time elapsed since birth — what our calculator measures. Biological age refers to how old your body actually is based on health markers like cardiovascular fitness, cellular aging, and lifestyle factors. Some people are biologically younger than their chronological age due to exercise, diet, and genetics.
Fun Age Facts
By the time you're 30, you've lived approximately 10,950 days, 262,800 hours, or 946 million seconds. A 70-year-old has experienced about 17 or 18 leap days. The average human heart beats about 2.5 billion times in a 70-year lifetime. Use our calculator to discover your own unique milestones.
